When I moved back to Houston, I got an apartment in an area of town I was familiar with and am now still in a "bubble". I know the places I like to eat, shop, run, etc. etc. But, as I am figuring out everytime a friend says, "Do you want to have dinner at ______?" and my response is "Where is that? I have never been!" there are many places in Houston that I haven't explored. Some of them are just new places that wern't even where when I was growing up.... Washington Ave (yes, everyone whose jaw is dropping I have been there plenty of times since moving back) and Discovery Green, others have been here and I have just been in my little routine not enjoying some of the great things Houston has to offer.
So, my goal is to try new things, new restaurants, and explore Houston a little bit. Dallas... I got down living there post grad. Now, it's time to experience Houston! Better late then never!
I have tried a few new places and things that I didn't document with this blog, but recently Thomas and I explored Discovery Green. It was a sunny day and I saw there was a flea market. So we headed downtown to enjoy the day. This doesn't really count as a new adventure though because we have been to Discovery Green before, but hey it was fun!
